White High Opaque Vinyl Manufacturers

White High Opaque Vinyl

Calendered PVC with titanium dioxide loading achieving 99% opacity. Conforms to SAE J1960 for outdoor fleet marking.

Manufactured by Shanghai Hanker Industrial Co., Ltd.

Product Overview

White High Opaque Vinyl is a heavily pigmented, calandared PVC film designed to block background colors and substrate imperfections. Manufactured by Shanghai Hanker Industrial Co., Ltd. (DPI brand), this material incorporates a multi-pass white coating system that achieves light transmission of less than 1% at 75μm thickness.

The formulation utilizes high-density titanium dioxide (TiO₂) distribution within the PVC matrix rather than surface printing, preventing abrasion-induced transparency during weeding or squeegee application. Its opaque layer enables one-pass coverage over dark vehicle paints, corrugated plastics, and recycled cardboard substrates without edge halo effects.

About Shanghai Hanker Industrial Co., Ltd.

Shanghai Hanker Industrial Co., Ltd. is China White High Opaque Vinyl Manufacturers and Wholesale White High Opaque Vinyl Suppliers. With over 20 years of industry experience, we have grown into a fully-integrated enterprise capable of producing a complete range of products across the entire industrial chain.

2004-2005

Company Foundation

Shanghai Hanker Industrial Co., Ltd began preparations in 2004 and was officially registered and established in 2005. The DPI brand was founded in the same year, marking the beginning of our journey in the adhesive materials industry.

2012

Expansion of Production Base

To enhance the influence and market share of the DPI brand, we expanded our production base to Nanhuating Industrial Park in Fengxian District, Shanghai. The facility covers 25,000 square meters and employs over 160 people, equipped with modern production workshops and advanced equipment including silicone coating machines, laminating machines, and automated punching machines.

2016

New Manufacturing Facility in Jiangsu

We established Jiangsu DPI New Materials Co., Ltd. in Qidong, Jiangsu Province, covering 34,000 square meters. This facility is equipped with China's leading calendering machine, high-standard silicon coating machines, and PE coating machines, enabling independent production of raw materials like PVC calendering film and release paper.

Product Benefits

Performance differentiation between standard cast vinyl, monomeric calendered, and high-opacity calendered films.

Background Suppression

Eliminates ghosting of red, black, or multicolored substrates. Prepress white layer application is not required, reducing ink consumption by 18-22%.

Chalk-Resistant Topcoat

Acrylic clear coat formulated with UV absorbers. Prevents TiO₂-catalyzed degradation and chalking observed in standard white films after 2 years.

Ink Trap Minimization

Surface tension optimized at 42-44 dynes/cm². Reduces orange peel and pinholes in solid white digital print floods.

Product Features

Construction attributes for color layering, contour cutting, and warranty compliance.

  • Dual-Stage Calendering: Orientation control reduces flagging at die-cut label edges.
  • Perma-White Technology: Anti-yellowing package tested per ASTM D4329.
  • Rapid Tack Adhesive: 85% ultimate bond achieved within 20 minutes of application.
  • Conformable Napping: Compressible layer for segmented vehicle wraps.
  • Solvent Resistant: Withstands gasoline splash and diesel fumes.
  • Matrix Stripping: Clean tear during rotary die-cutting.

Product Applications

Sectors requiring light blocking and brand color accuracy.

Fleet Refurbishment

Partial wraps over existing faded fleet graphics. High opacity conceals prior logos without removal of old vinyl.

  • Box Trucks: White vinyl over colored gel-coat fiberglass.
  • Emergency Vehicles: High contrast base for reflective chevrons.

Corrugated & Plastic Box Labeling

Direct application to brown kraft cardboard or HDPE totes. Blocks natural material undertones for barcode scanning reliability.

  • Returnable Containers: 100μm grade withstands fork truck abrasion.

Backlit Signage Overlay

Applied to non-illuminated portions of lightbox signage to prevent light bleed around LED modules.

  • Channel Letters: Masking returns and sidewalls.

 Field Handling

Cold Folding

Do not fold below 10°C. Micro-cracks in pigment layer become visible when stretched over rivets.

Weeding Temperature

Warm vinyl to 25°C prior to weeding fine text (≤6pt). Cold vinyl may delaminate color layer.

Ink Saturation

Eco-solvent ink density increases opacity. Over-saturation causes cockling; restrict passes to 4-6.

Clearcoat Protection

For 5-year outdoor use, overlaminate recommended. Surface is printable but not rated for abrasion without lamination.

Frequently Asked Questions

Technical concerns regarding opacity, adhesive compatibility, and print adhesion.

How is 99% opacity measured?

Via contrast ratio (black/white backing) per ASTM D2805. Film is placed over black and white substrates; reflectance ratio ≥0.99 indicates one layer sufficient to mask black.

Can I use this for full vehicle wraps?

Yes, 100μm grade with air-egress adhesive is recommended for wraps. 75μm grade is intended for flat panels and labels, not compound curves.

Does high TiO₂ content affect cutting?

Minimally. Blade wear increases approximately 15% compared to non-pigmented cast vinyl. Use carbide tipped blades for production runs exceeding 500 linear feet.

Is this compatible with latex ink?

Yes, includes heat-activated receptor layer. Curing temperature not to exceed 60°C to avoid shrinkage.

What liner option is best for high-speed labeling?

PET liner (clear) provides rigidity for label applicators. Kraft liner is more economical for hand application.
