Self Adhesive Container Vinyl
Heavy-duty PVC with plasticizer-resistant adhesive. Engineered for ISO shipping containers and corrugated sidewalls.
Product Overview
Self Adhesive Container Vinyl is formulated to adhere to industrial substrates coated with anti-corrosion primers, epoxy paints, and aged alkyd enamels commonly found on intermodal containers. Manufactured by Shanghai Hanker Industrial Co., Ltd., DPI Container Grade utilizes a cross-linked acrylic adhesive that resists plasticizer migration from container sealants and anti-graffiti topcoats.
The film thickness (120μm) absorbs minor impact scratches and stone peck encountered during stacking and transport. Unlike promotional vehicle vinyl, Container Vinyl is tested for adhesion to surfaces contaminated with diesel exhaust particulates and road film without requiring solvent wiping. It facilitates container pooling compliance and fleet identification across rail and maritime logistics.
Product Parameters
Mechanical and chemical parameters specific to intermodal freight conditions. Tested per ASTM D2979 and ISO 6270-2.

About Shanghai Hanker Industrial Co., Ltd.
Shanghai Hanker Industrial Co., Ltd. is China Self Adhesive Container Vinyl Manufacturers and Wholesale Self Adhesive Container Vinyl Suppliers. With over 20 years of industry experience, we have grown into a fully-integrated enterprise capable of producing a complete range of products across the entire industrial chain.
Company Foundation
Shanghai Hanker Industrial Co., Ltd began preparations in 2004 and was officially registered and established in 2005. The DPI brand was founded in the same year, marking the beginning of our journey in the adhesive materials industry.
Expansion of Production Base
To enhance the influence and market share of the DPI brand, we expanded our production base to Nanhuating Industrial Park in Fengxian District, Shanghai. The facility covers 25,000 square meters and employs over 160 people, equipped with modern production workshops and advanced equipment including silicone coating machines, laminating machines, and automated punching machines.
New Manufacturing Facility in Jiangsu
We established Jiangsu DPI New Materials Co., Ltd. in Qidong, Jiangsu Province, covering 34,000 square meters. This facility is equipped with China's leading calendering machine, high-standard silicon coating machines, and PE coating machines, enabling independent production of raw materials like PVC calendering film and release paper.
Industry Leadership and Innovation
Today, Hanker has developed into a fully-integrated enterprise with comprehensive capabilities across upstream, midstream, and downstream industrial chains. We hold over 65 invention and utility model patents, and our high-quality DPI products are sold to more than 80 countries worldwide.
Certifications & Quality Standards
Environmental Commitment
We actively uphold our environmental protection responsibilities by utilizing advanced RTO equipment, achieving a 99.9% waste gas treatment rate. We encourage full employee participation in environmental practices and support sustainable development through tangible actions.
Product Benefits
Comparative analysis versus standard promotional vinyl and aluminum-faced container labels.
Plasticizer Migration Resistance
Container corner posts and door gaskets emit volatile plasticizers. Standard vinyl adhesive absorbs these, causing gelation and label slip. Container Grade adhesive is formulated to repel phthalate uptake.
Wet Surface Application
Adhesive chemistry permits application to surfaces with residual moisture (dew, rain rinse). Bond develops as water evaporates through linerless matrix.
Corrosion Underfilm Prevention
Permeability rating allows water vapor transmission but prevents liquid water capillary action. Reduces osmotic blistering under graphics.
Product Features
Designed for extreme logistics environments where standard vinyl fails within 6 months.
- Impact Modified Face: Resists tearing from container stacker tines and sling chains.
- Anti-Graffiti Release: Overlaminate allows pressure washing removal of spray paint without graphic damage.
- ISO 6346 Compliant White: Meets background color standards for container size/type markings.
- Non-Reflective Finish: 15-20 GU @60°; does not interfere with OCR camera reads at ports.
- Cold Stack Adhesion: Bond formation at -5°C on reefer container surfaces.
Product Applications
Deployed on intermodal containers, chassis, and heavy equipment operating in ISO 1496-1 environments.
Container Identification Panels
Replacement for riveted aluminum CSC plates. Vinyl allows barcode scanning and OCR reading of BIC codes.
- Owner Codes: High adhesion prevents theft swapping.
Hazardous Placard Holders
UN number and hazmat diamond substrates. Adhesive retains placard during pressure washing.
- IMO/IMDG Compliance: Red phosphor-free formulation.
Reefer & Tank Container Markings
Withstands constant vibration and sub-zero skin temperatures of refrigerated containers.
- Food Grade Safe: Migrant-free adhesive suitable for outer food transport vessels.
Surface Prep Guidelines
Minimum Application Temp
0°C. Adhesive requires thermal activation. Below freezing, bond formation is delayed 48 hours.
Corrugation Overlap
Extend graphic 2 inches beyond corrugation peaks to prevent "tenting" at valleys.
Degreaser Use
Avoid silicone-based cleaners. Use isopropanol/water 50:50. Silicone causes fish-eyes.
Post-Application Cure
Maximum bond strength achieved after 7 days. Avoid high-pressure spray within this window.
Frequently Asked Questions
Adhesion to problematic substrates, chemical resistance, and removal queries.
Yes, using heat (150°C) and low angle pull. Adhesive is permanent but removable with heat. Solvent adhesive removers may stain epoxy paint.
Corroguard (wax-based anti-corrosion coating) is intentionally low-surface-energy. Container Grade adhesive is optimized for this; adhesion is 70% of epoxy bond. 48hr cure required.
Intermittent steam cleaning (80°C, 1000psi) is acceptable. Continuous direct steam on edges may cause lifting.
5-7 years global maritime environment (equatorial sun/salt). Color shift ΔE ≤5 at 5 years.
Yes, passes IMO FTPC Part 5 for surface flammability. Test reports available upon request.
