Transparent Electrostatic Film is a self-clinging PVC material engineered for temporary glass and glossy surface applications. Manufactured by Shanghai Hanker Industrial Co., Ltd. under the DPI brand, this film utilizes a plasticizer-rich formulation to create a molecular bond with smooth surfaces without adhesive or thermal activation.

The film exhibits 92% visible light transmission with less than 4% haze, maintaining substrate appearance while providing graphic layering or surface protection. Its static cling mechanism allows repeated repositioning without residue transfer, making it suitable for short-term retail displays, cleanroom partitioning, and optical stack components.

Company Foundation

Expansion of Production Base

To enhance the influence and market share of the DPI brand, we expanded our production base to Nanhuating Industrial Park in Fengxian District, Shanghai. The facility covers 25,000 square meters and employs over 160 people, equipped with modern production workshops and advanced equipment including silicone coating machines, laminating machines, and automated punching machines.

2016

New Manufacturing Facility in Jiangsu

We established Jiangsu DPI New Materials Co., Ltd. in Qidong, Jiangsu Province, covering 34,000 square meters. This facility is equipped with China's leading calendering machine, high-standard silicon coating machines, and PE coating machines, enabling independent production of raw materials like PVC calendering film and release paper.

 Application Constraints

Substrate Porosity

Cling failure occurs on wood, matte paint, or anti-glare glass. Confirm surface gloss ≥80 GU for adequate seal.

Cutting Pressure

Use offset blade. Excessive kiss-cut pressure creates micro-tears that propagate during cling.

Wet Application

Unlike adhesive vinyl, water breaks static bond. Apply dry only.

Lamination

Overlaminate weight may overcome static force. Use ≤1.0 mil clear film if stacking.

Does electrostatic film expire faster than adhesive vinyl?

Yes. Plasticizer migration to the surface enables cling. Storage at >30°C accelerates migration, reducing cling force. Shelf life is 2 years versus 3-4 years for adhesive stocks. Store below 25°C.

Can I print white ink on transparent electrostatic film?

Compatible with UV and latex printers. White ink adhesion is acceptable if surface corona treatment is ≥42 dynes. Eco-solvent white inks may require over-printing or primer layer for opacity.

Will the film fog over time in high humidity?

No. The PVC formulation contains no hygroscopic components. Haze value remains below 5% at 95% RH. However, condensation on cold glass will break the static seal.

Is this film conductive or ESD safe?

Standard grade is insulative (surface resistivity >1×10¹² Ω/sq). An ESD-safe grade with carbon loading is available as a custom order.

What is the maximum service temperature?

50°C continuous exposure. Above 60°C, the film softens and may creep or slide. Do not apply to exterior automotive glass in summer climates.
