Transparent Electrostatic Film
Optically clear static cling PVC for glass and non-porous surfaces. Bonds via vacuum, requires no adhesive.
Product Overview
Transparent Electrostatic Film is a self-clinging PVC material engineered for temporary glass and glossy surface applications. Manufactured by Shanghai Hanker Industrial Co., Ltd. under the DPI brand, this film utilizes a plasticizer-rich formulation to create a molecular bond with smooth surfaces without adhesive or thermal activation.
The film exhibits 92% visible light transmission with less than 4% haze, maintaining substrate appearance while providing graphic layering or surface protection. Its static cling mechanism allows repeated repositioning without residue transfer, making it suitable for short-term retail displays, cleanroom partitioning, and optical stack components.

About Shanghai Hanker Industrial Co., Ltd.
Shanghai Hanker Industrial Co., Ltd. is China Transparent Electrostatic Film Manufacturers and Wholesale Transparent Electrostatic Film Suppliers. With over 20 years of industry experience, we have grown into a fully-integrated enterprise capable of producing a complete range of products across the entire industrial chain.
Company Foundation
Shanghai Hanker Industrial Co., Ltd began preparations in 2004 and was officially registered and established in 2005. The DPI brand was founded in the same year, marking the beginning of our journey in the adhesive materials industry.
Expansion of Production Base
To enhance the influence and market share of the DPI brand, we expanded our production base to Nanhuating Industrial Park in Fengxian District, Shanghai. The facility covers 25,000 square meters and employs over 160 people, equipped with modern production workshops and advanced equipment including silicone coating machines, laminating machines, and automated punching machines.
New Manufacturing Facility in Jiangsu
We established Jiangsu DPI New Materials Co., Ltd. in Qidong, Jiangsu Province, covering 34,000 square meters. This facility is equipped with China's leading calendering machine, high-standard silicon coating machines, and PE coating machines, enabling independent production of raw materials like PVC calendering film and release paper.
Industry Leadership and Innovation
Today, Hanker has developed into a fully-integrated enterprise with comprehensive capabilities across upstream, midstream, and downstream industrial chains. We hold over 65 invention and utility model patents, and our high-quality DPI products are sold to more than 80 countries worldwide.
Certifications & Quality Standards
Environmental Commitment
We actively uphold our environmental protection responsibilities by utilizing advanced RTO equipment, achieving a 99.9% waste gas treatment rate. We encourage full employee participation in environmental practices and support sustainable development through tangible actions.
Product Benefits
Comparison with solvent-based, low-tack, and optical adhesives across application and removal parameters.
Zero Adhesive Residue
Cling force relies on air evacuation and molecular attraction. Upon removal, no adhesive transfer occurs, reducing substrate cleaning costs.
Full Re-Positionability
Film can be lifted and reapplied across entire surface area without stretch deformation or loss of cling strength.
Bubble-Free Air Release
Micro-embossed air channels allow trapped air to escape laterally during application, eliminating bubble entrapment common with rigid films.
Extended Open Time
Unlike acrylic adhesives, static film does not skin over. Shelf life of 3 years maintained if stored away from direct heat.
Product Features
Material characteristics optimized for digital printing and optical assembly lines.
- Anti-Blocking Back Coating: Prevents linerless roll sticking at 40°C storage
- Corona-Treated Surface: ≥42 dyne/cm for UV, latex, and solvent ink anchorage
- Plasticizer Migration Barrier: Inhibits staining on painted or ABS substrates
- Die-Cuttable Matrix: Maintains matrix break strength without adhesive stringing
- Phthalate-Free Formulation: Compliant with RoHS and REACH SVHC
- Interleave Paper Optional: Available with silicone-coated release for automated stacking
Product Applications
Deployed in environments where adhesive contamination or optical clarity is the limiting factor.
Point-of-Purchase Displays
Used in layering systems for window clings and shelf talkers. Static allows stacking multiple promotional layers on single glass pane without adhesive ghosting.
- Seasonal Promotions: Monthly menu changes without glass re-washing
- Frosted Window Simulants: Laser-cut patterns providing privacy with daylight transparency
Optical Stack Protection
Serves as temporary coverlay for LCD panels, touch screens, and mirror surfaces during assembly. Removal does not generate triboelectric charges.
- Screen Protector Carrier Film: Conveyance layer for adhesive-backed TPU protectors
- Glass Etching Mask: Acid-resistant carrier for sandblasting patterns
Textile & Soft Signage
Applied to fabric backers for trade show banners. Film is removed post-event, leaving no adhesive pick-up on polyester or canvas.
- Rental Display Graphics: Multi-venue use; film peeled and reapplied at next location
Application Constraints
Substrate Porosity
Cling failure occurs on wood, matte paint, or anti-glare glass. Confirm surface gloss ≥80 GU for adequate seal.
Cutting Pressure
Use offset blade. Excessive kiss-cut pressure creates micro-tears that propagate during cling.
Wet Application
Unlike adhesive vinyl, water breaks static bond. Apply dry only.
Lamination
Overlaminate weight may overcome static force. Use ≤1.0 mil clear film if stacking.
Frequently Asked Questions
Handling, storage, and compatibility inquiries for electrostatic film.
Yes. Plasticizer migration to the surface enables cling. Storage at >30°C accelerates migration, reducing cling force. Shelf life is 2 years versus 3-4 years for adhesive stocks. Store below 25°C.
Compatible with UV and latex printers. White ink adhesion is acceptable if surface corona treatment is ≥42 dynes. Eco-solvent white inks may require over-printing or primer layer for opacity.
No. The PVC formulation contains no hygroscopic components. Haze value remains below 5% at 95% RH. However, condensation on cold glass will break the static seal.
Standard grade is insulative (surface resistivity >1×10¹² Ω/sq). An ESD-safe grade with carbon loading is available as a custom order.
50°C continuous exposure. Above 60°C, the film softens and may creep or slide. Do not apply to exterior automotive glass in summer climates.
