Anti-collision Floor Lamination Film

A protective overlay engineered with energy-absorbing properties to minimize damage from impacts, drops, and heavy traffic on floor graphics and surfaces.

Manufactured by Shanghai Hanker Industrial Co., Ltd.

Product Overview

Anti-collision Floor Lamination Film is a specialized protective material designed to safeguard floor graphics and underlying surfaces from physical damage caused by impacts. Its construction features a resilient core layer that absorbs and disperses kinetic energy from falling objects, equipment impacts, or concentrated loads. This preventive approach extends the functional lifespan of floor markings and decorative graphics in demanding environments.

The film employs a multi-layer architecture combining a tough exterior wear surface with a viscoelastic middle layer and a high-bond adhesive system. When subjected to impact, the core layer compresses to cushion the blow, then gradually recovers its original shape. This mechanism reduces the force transmitted to the printed graphic and floor substrate, preventing cracks, dents, and punctures that would otherwise necessitate repairs or replacements.

Product Benefits

This specialized film provides targeted benefits focused on physical protection and risk mitigation.

Reduced Damage from Impacts

The energy-absorbing core disperses impact forces over a larger area, minimizing localized damage to graphics and flooring substrates.

Extended Service Life for Graphics

Protects the integrity of printed information and decorative elements, reducing replacement frequency and associated downtime or costs.

Noise Reduction Properties

Dampens impact sounds from dropped tools, equipment movement, and foot traffic, contributing to a quieter working environment.

Product Features

The film incorporates several engineered features specifically designed for impact protection.

  •  Viscoelastic Core Technology: A specialized polymer formulation that exhibits both viscous and elastic characteristics, effectively converting impact energy into heat through internal friction.
  •  Puncture-resistant Top Layer: A tough polyester or polyurethane film provides a barrier against sharp objects while maintaining clarity for graphic visibility.
  •  Gradient Density Construction: Some variants feature graduated density through the core thickness, optimizing energy absorption across different impact levels.
  •  Closed-cell Structure Option: Available with closed-cell foam cores that prevent moisture ingress, making them suitable for occasionally wet environments.
  •  Edge Reinforcement Design: Enhanced edge construction resists delamination and peeling under shear stresses from impacts near film boundaries.
  •  Thermal Insulation Properties: The foam core provides measurable thermal resistance (R-value approximately 0.5-1.0 per inch).
  •  Vibration Dampening: Reduces transmission of machinery vibrations through floor structures to adjacent areas.
  •  Conformable Yet Supportive: Flexible enough to adhere to flat surfaces while providing sufficient support to prevent bottoming out under typical impacts.

Product Applications

This protective film is specified for environments where floor graphics are exposed to physical abuse from equipment, tools, or heavy traffic.

 Installation & Performance Optimization

Substrate Preparation

Apply only to smooth, rigid substrates. The film's effectiveness is reduced on flexible or uneven surfaces. Ensure complete adhesion across the entire surface to prevent edge lifting under impact.

Temperature Considerations

Install when ambient and substrate temperatures are between 15°C-30°C (60°F-86°F). Cold temperatures reduce adhesive flow; hot temperatures may cause excessive initial compression.

Edge Treatment

Seal edges with compatible seam sealer or edge banding in high-traffic areas to prevent moisture ingress and edge lifting. Consider beveled edges at transitions to adjacent flooring.

Performance Monitoring

Periodically inspect for cuts, punctures, or areas of permanent compression. While the film is sacrificial, early detection of damage prevents moisture penetration to the substrate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently asked questions about the protective capabilities and usage of Anti-collision Floor Lamination Film.

What types of impacts is it designed to protect against?

It is engineered for medium-energy impacts typical in industrial and commercial settings: dropped hand tools (wrenches, hammers), falling equipment components, rolling equipment contacts, and accidental impacts from carts or dollies. It is not designed for protection against intentional abuse or extremely high-energy impacts.

How does it affect the feel of the floor underfoot?

The thicker variants (25 mil and above) may create a slightly cushioned feel compared to bare concrete or tile. This is generally perceived as more comfortable for standing work. The deflection under normal foot traffic is minimal but noticeable when compared directly with uncoated floors.

Can it be used under heavy stationary equipment like machinery or racks?

For stationary heavy loads, the film may experience permanent compression (compression set) over time. For equipment that will remain in place for extended periods, it is recommended to either omit the film in that specific footprint or use a higher-density variant specifically designed for static loads.

How does it perform with chemical exposure from spills?

The top wear layer provides good resistance to common industrial chemicals, oils, and cleaning solutions. However, prolonged exposure to aggressive solvents or acids can damage the film. Prompt cleanup of spills is recommended. For areas with frequent chemical exposure, consult chemical resistance charts for specific compatibility.

What is the repair process if the film gets damaged?

Small punctures or cuts can be repaired using compatible patching material and adhesive. For larger damaged areas, the affected section can be cut out and replaced with new material, feathering the edges for a smooth transition. Proper surface preparation of the repair area is essential for adhesion.
